What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday #347

Hello Fellow Deskers,

Long time no see, I've been MIA for a little while, but I'm back in my craft room again and I've been very busy over the last couple of weeks making a very happy mess of it! Here's how my desk looks this morning ...

Flowers aren't my "thing" really and I couldn't make this come out like the picture I had in my head - but I guess that was my first mistake - I should have just let it happen rather than try to make it come out a certain way. I can't decide whether to work on it some more, abandon it and start again or leave it as is, accept it as part of my Life Book journey and move on. Hmmmmmm ......

I'm thoroughly loving LB so far and even though this one's a bit of a "fail" for me - it isn't really, because I had so much fun playing with all my paints and pens and stuff I've never used before.

Anyway, time to link up over at Julia's Stamping Ground and see what everyone else has on their desks this week - be there or be square! :o)

Thanks for popping in to see me today, see you again soon.

Your still life has a very impressionistic feel to it, so I like it. What I like to do when I'm not sure of a piece is to step away from it for a day or more, and then come back to it. You'll look at it with fresh eyes and can make a better decision as to what to do next. Either way, I would keep it, since it is a part of your artistic journey. Blessings, my friend!

I think it's lovely, and I agree with Arnoldo, step back from it and look at it for a few days. I also use a picture mount cut into L shapes to see different crops and think about what works best

Are you kidding me, Annie? I think this looks stunning! You can work on it a little more if you feel it needs more work, or call it finished, but don't you "abandon" it! That would be total sacrilege! I think you did great! Flowers are not my thing either (other than the whimsy ones), but I was surprised how much I enjoyed this lesson and like you said, that's what really counts! Happy WOYWW! zsuzsa #38

I think your painting is beautiful. My eyes crave colors and flowers this time of year. Unless you don't have space to keep a lot of your work, I would definitely keep it -- perhaps there is a place where you could display it to bring cheer to a winter day. The Life Book challenge is suiting you gal! Love to see you working slightly outside of your box and hey, just because you don't like it, there are plenty of us that do! Great to see you.

Your flowers are lovely--but I absolutely agree with you, having it planned out in your head almost always ends in a little disappointment . . .

but then again, sometimes it's even better than we imagined!

Happy WOYWW. Your flowers and blue pot look fantastic to me. The Life Book project is something that has tempted me a few times - but I know that I would do a few weeks and then give up. Story of my life! Ali x #37

Hello lovely gal, good to see you again..hope all is well with you. I rather like those bright flowers but if you want to change it, why don't you mix up a thin wash of white and knock the saturation down a bit? Only a thought...

I think that painting looks pretty dam good to me. I am also so glad that there is someone else who has an idea in their head of what their project should look like. I think that is my biggest problem. I am playing with watercolour at the moment and I am really loving it. I love the softness of it all. I am always so inspired by your stuff Annie. <3
