UKS Simple Recipe for April #1

Granny's Kitchen

Inspired by the UKS Simple Recipe for April by Sarah from SJ Crafts.

The challenge was to use a colour palette of sunshine yellow, apple green, cool red and pale pink and incorporate stickers and twine. The colours were perfect for this photo of my Granny in her kitchen. I sifted through so many happy memories whilst making this page - every element seemed to remind me of something...

The background is Coredinations Whitewash which I dry embossed with Fiskars texture plates and my trusty pokey tool then sanded. I used some red scrappers' floss instead of twine. The papers were all leftovers from different collections, so I sanded and inked all the edges to bring them together as suggested by Sarah. The chipboard stickers (freebies from a magazine) and the Thickers for the title were treated the same way. The flowers are Anita's Dimension Stickers which were lovely to use and I really enjoyed the Laura Ashley Velvet Rub-Ons which I got in a sale ages ago and now wish I cold get some more...
