Beautiful!

Hi everyone,

Case File #77 over at CSI this week is all lush green leafiness and full of inspiration from nature - absolutely perfect for this picture of my dear friend Maggie looking so beautiful on her wedding day.

Here's the Case File (click on the image to enlarge it)

As always, the wonderful Debbi Tehrani has found us an intriguing Scene to investigate this week - from this inspiration image, Debbi takes the five colours for the Scheme, design elements for Evidence and journaling prompts for Testimony -
(CSI = Color, Stories, Inspiration).

In order to solve the case, we have to use

  • All five colours in the Scheme
  • At least two items of Evidence
  • At least one piece of testimony

To help find these clues, CSI members can download a new set of CSI Coordinates for each Case - these are gorgeous printable papers, images and journaling spots designed by talented artist Michele Singh and they are all archived for CSI members to use any time and they're free! Thanks Michele :o)

So here's how I solved the case

Scheme: the colours are all there, plus I've added neutrals and tiny touches of accent colours, which you're allowed!
Evidence: Leaves; twine; something transparent; something from nature; banner made of something unusual; woodgrain pattern; vintage seed packets; circle tag; pearls.
Testimony: Written in the form of a seed catalogue description on the back of the tag which is tucked behind the photo it goes as follows:

'Lovely Maggie'
Perennial friend, reliable and hardy
Tall and graceful, beautiful inside and out
Allow plenty of space and a large garden
Happy in full sun or dappled shade
Water well and protect from severe weather
Known to have healing properties
Qty available: only one
Cost: priceless

Here are some pictures of my evidence under the magnifying glass

Lots of things from nature here. A variety of leaves - there's a die cut one, a fabric ivy leaf and a chipboard piece coloured with pearlescent fabric paint. Something gorgeous flowers from 13Arts. A couple of pins in the top of the cluster - a pearl heart and a butterfly with tiny pearl accents. Circle tag from Stampin' Up! You can see a bit of the woodgrain pattern background paper too.

More natural things in this close-up. Here's my banner made from something unusual - the flags were cut from a sheet of cork, then I added some painted chipboard leaves and threaded through some twinkly twine from Maya Road. The gorgeous vintage seed packets were cut from a 12" x 12" sheet by October Afternoon.

Here is something transparent - the lime green vellum and a sheet of white tracing paper are layered with the patterned papers.

So that's it - great fun! Pop over to CSI to see how everyone has solved this case over and why not have a go yourself? - you have until next Sunday! :o)xxx
