LOL!

Case File #78 over at CSI this week was full of fun ideas and colours and I thought it would be the perfect foil for a picture which always makes me smile. Here's the Case File (click on the image to enlarge)

CSI Mastermind Debbi Tehrani has found another intriguing Scene for us to investigate - from this inspiration image Debbi pulls five colours, lots of ideas for design elements and plenty of journaling prompts to get us going.

In order to solve the case, you have to use the following Clues

  • All five colours from the Scheme
  • At least two items of Evidence
  • At least one piece of Testimony

Each week there is also a new set of CSI Coordinates designed especially for the case by the talented Michele Singh. These are printable images, journaling spots and patterned papers which CSI members can download and print off or use for digi scrapping - they're FAB and they're FREE!!! Amazing!

Here's how I solved the case, using a sketch by Sheena Rowlands for Scrap 365

To create the journaling spot, cut pp to fit the ID holder,
round corners with a punch, add Heidi Swapp stamps
and doodle a border with a fineliner pen.
Chevrons were cut from a sheet of cork from a DIY store

This sketch is so brilliant that I've used it twice already! I'm going to link this to the Sketch 365 July challenge as well - check out the Sketch 365 blog for lots of ideas and inspiration from the DT.

There are several influences here from the Projects That Wow! online class which I've been following at Jennifer Grace Creates - mainly from the DIY Details prompt, but also Bling's The Thing and Pop and Slide! Intrigued? Check out Jennifer's blog as she always has lots going on.

So, how did I solve the CSI Case File #78?

The Scheme: the five colours are all there, plus some black and neutral (which you're allowed)
The Evidence: metal, fabric, transparent accent, glossy, buttons
The Testimony: As luck would have it, my DH brought home a transparent ID holder with a metal clip (knowing I could make use of it!) so I used it to create a holder for my journaling - and it also gave me the transparent accent and the metal for Evidence. The journalling on the front reads "At Grandma's house Around 1986 - po-faced Richard aged 4  x" and then if you lift the flap you will find a file card where I've written as follows "I have no idea of the story behind this picture as I wasn't there, but I'd love to know what was going through your 4-year old mind. Had you already started to develop your keen sense of irony, your feel for the surreal and the silly - or at only 4 years old, were you just thinking "What's so funny?!" Mum x

Thanks so much for looking at my page - please let me know what you think of it!

Cheerio for now

hi there, you can join the ARC whenever you want. Just pick out your books for the rest of the year, blog about the list and link up then take it from there. I havent decided yet if I will do this next year. I might if enough people want to do it.

We are very flexible, the 'rules' are really only guidelines. It's just a bit of fun. x
