Hi Everyone - Happy New Year!
If you're a regular visitor to my blog, you'll already know that I'm a huge fan of the 1-2-3 Challenge Blog - I just love the whole concept of it. The idea is that you are given a colour, a word and a technique and all you have to do is to include all three in a scrapbook page. Here is the board for January ...
I'm extra excited about this one, because ..... drum roll please ...... it's my first one as a brand new member of the 1-2-3 Challenge Design Team - wooHOO!!!
Here's the page I made ...
... this is a school photograph of my cute little great-niece Leila - I love the look of the black-and-white photo against the brights colours and the chalkboard-effect background.
Here are some close-ups ...
A few more bits here from my Funky Farm kit - the chipboard frame by Chalk Studio, the paper rose and the wood veneer word. Also papers from the Echo Park "Here & Now" collection.
The lovely orange feathers were from a mixed bag in a kiddies' craft set; the big flower is from a Papermania Capsule Collection; the pretty pink spray came from 13Arts; and the gorgeously squishy heart sticker was from Every Crafts A Pound
The patterned paper here is MME Pretty Please "Polka Dot Orange" - I tore and inked the edge to make it more interesting. The adhesive chipboard banners were leftovers I had in my stash, can't remember the brand, but I wish I could get some more .... I sanded them to lighten the colours and give a distressed look. The gorgeous vivid pink doily is from DoCrafts - it's cut in half, so I could tuck the other piece under the cluster on the left. The squishy letters are Thickers from American Crafts.
Another wood veneer word from my Funk Farm kit; the pink flower was from Crafty Cow and the orange daisy sticker was part of my lovely prize from Libby at Soul Scrappers
These Prima White Alpha Stickers are brilliant to use - they have a wonderful canvas texture and you can colour them really easily to suit your page (although you can't see the effect too well here). The background here is Echo Park Chalkboard (a lovely watercolour effect pink on the reverse), which is layered onto a sheet of Carta Bella "Now & Again" chevron (I've used the reverse and of course I've "gutted" it so I can use the part that doesn't show for another project)
So, that's my page - why not have a go yourself?!
You'll find all the details and lots of inspiration on the 1-2-3 Challenge Blog
Thanks for popping in - see you again soon :o)
