It's Our Time

There's a new challenge for May over at the 1-2-3 Challenge Blog

The idea is to use all three elements in a scrapbook page - this month, the colour is green, the word is time and the technique is journaling.

I decided to combine the green with pink and scrap another one of our wedding photos (coming up to three years old now!) ...

This photo was taken as we were being "papped" by all our friends and relations just after the ceremony and before we went off for our wedding picnic - at this point we were feeling relieved, relaxed, happy and excited and I love how that all shows in this picture!

I started with a sheet of white Bazzill Cardstock which I trimmed down and mounted on a sheet of green to give it a frame. My journaling is written all around the edge of the page (you'll be able to read it if you click on the image to enlarge it)

The patterned papers were all from two different Crate Paper collections - Flea Market and DIY Shop. I am totally in love with both of these and it's great how they go together perfectly - just like us :o) hehehe
I distressed all the edges before layering them together, to add texture and depth to the layout.

The arrangement in the bottom right corner is made up of a waste strip from the Flea Market 6" paper pad, a piece snipped from one of the pp, letters from the Simple Stories "Homespun" chipboard sticker set and a couple of Simple Stories DIY clear stickers.

The bunting was hand-cut from pp - I doodled around it for added emphasis and used foam dots to lift each pennant of the page as if they're fluttering in the breeze!
Next, I created a cluster of flowers and tucked in a couple more of the chipboard stickers. The leaves were diecut from various scraps of green using a Spellbinders Nestabilities set which has several different types of foliage - a really useful set.

That pink heart is from the Simple Stories Burlap Stickers set - I just used mist to colour it to match my page - and the black heart is another one of the chipboard stickers. The little photo corners came from the diecut sheet in the Crate DIY Shop collection. You can also see the edge of a Dovecraft doily (love all the colours they do) and part of a rub-on frame which I think was from Teresa Collins but I've had it ages. The file tab was cut with one of my favourite punches from Stampin' Up.

So, another wedding photo bites the dust! I'm toying with the idea of doing some PL style pages for our wedding album. Obviously I can't make a page like this for every single picture, so I'm thinking I could showcase a few special photos with individual pages, and slot them in amongst PL style pages showing multiple photos - what do you think?

Anyway, check out that challenge over at 1-2-3 - there are loads of brilliant prizes to be won and you have until May 31st to enter.

Thanks for coming over today, see you again soon :o)xxx

Beautiful page Annie! I spotted the Simple Stories chipboard. I think pages like this coupled with pocket pages can be a great way to get the balance of special alongside lots of photos.
