Holiday Haul and New Hobbies!

Hi everyone,

We just returned from a lovely sunshiney week in beautiful Northern Ireland - it was totally relaxing and we had so much fun.

Of course I took lots of photos and brought back some keepsakes for my scrapbook, a magnet for the holiday wall at work and a tin whistle which I'm hoping to learn to play ...

One of the highlights of our stay was attending an awards ceremony as guests of the Mayor of Antrim (my Uncle Roderick) - a brilliant evening full of sparkling entertainment, great company, delicious dinner, oh and maybe a glass or three ....

We also visited the breathtakingly-beautiful Mountains of Mourne ...

The whole family got together for a BBQ and everyone learned to make "Loom Bands" - and I mean everyone ...

More about loom bands in a separate post - for now, let's just say that I'm "hooked" on them! I just had to get some of my own ...

Of course, I managed to squeeze in some crafty shopping here and there. I found these in a branch of "The Works" at the local shopping centre - such a bargain it would have been rude not to ...

During our trip to County Down we had a wander around the seaside town of Newcastle and came across the Sugarisland Bead Shop, where I found these gorgeous goodies ...

The shopkeeper was very friendly and obviously loves what she does AND she added the sweet little angel charm you can see on the bottom right as a freebie. Click on the link above to visit her website.

Last but definitely not least, here is a short clip of my cousin Alexander showing off what he bought in The Works - a very cool pair of novelty glasses with built-in windscreen wipers ...

Well, that's it for now - I have some serious catch-up crafting to do, so keep watching this space! Thanks for popping in today, see you again soon :o)xxx
