It's A Boy Thing!

Hi Everyone,

There's a new Theme and Stash Challenge for August over at the SJ Crafts blog - the theme is holidays/travel and the stash part of the challenge is to use something old and something new. It's time to dig deep into your stash and come up with something you've been hoarding forever, as well as some brand new goodies you haven't played with yet.

Here's my scrapbook page inspired by this challenge ...

I used mainly papers from the Crate Paper "Boys Rule" collection, but funnily enough the "Boys Rule" embellishment was made from some pp from the Echo Park "Brothers" collection which has been lurking in the hidden depths of my stash for over a year.

My design started with the SJ Crafts blog "Start to Finish" challenge for last month - loved this approach so much I couldn't resist trying it again ...

... then I just threw everything I had at this page!

The Boys Rule collection has a great retro vibe which I love - and it works perfectly with this photo. If you look closely at the top right of the picture above, you'll see a zipper embellishment I've made using one of my newest toys - a border punch by EK Success. I also used up some really old chipboard alphas, mixing them to give me enough letters and sanding them back to take the shine off and go with the retro feel of this page.

Hope you like it - if you're inspired by this challenge, pop over to Sarah's blog to link up and be in with a chance of winning a prize! :o)

Thanks for popping in today, see you again soon.

LOVE it! It really has a 'cool' retro vibe, & the way you've used the die cuts is fabulous:):)
