Hi Everyone,
Here's a super-speedy idea for a last-minute card for St Valentine's Day - I've used the little hearts from my Georgie Stamp Set, but you could use any small stamped images you like to do this ...
The idea was adapted from a tutorial on Jennifer McGuire's You Tube channel - Jennifer's videos are brilliant, full of creative ideas and tips on stamping techniques.
I reckon you could easily make this card in under half an hour. Here's how ...
You will need:
Step Two: Stamp the small shapes inside the big shape you've drawn (turning them in different directions to make them fit inside like a jigsaw puzzle) ...
Step Three: Carry on until you've completely filled the shape, then erase your pencilled outline ...
Step Five: Colouring in! I used pens for quickness, but you could use all kinds of media to add some colour - it would look really pretty in watercolours for instance (if you weren't in a hurry you could add all kinds of texture and sparkle and extra fun at this point) ...
Step Six: Use a fine black marker to write the words "Be Mine" in one of the hearts, fold your card and there you have it!
Step Seven: Make a matching envelope - I cut mine from scrapbook paper, using a really handy template I've had for years (you could just use a standard one if you prefer) ...
Step Eight: S.W.A.L.K !!!
As luck would have it, my Beloved happened to walk in as I was making this, so I will have to go back to the drawing board for my own Valentine this year, but just thought I would share the idea :o)
Thanks for popping in today, see you again soon.
