Laugh Every Day

Hi everyone,

Here's another finished page from Scrapstars last weekend - this one was from a class taught by the talented Louise Collins and I really enjoyed making the artsy page ...

Lou's classes are always full of ideas and new techniques and although I didn't quite get the hang of all of them (my ink dribbles look more like a dead spider), it was so much fun to try them out.

The paint brush was a really cool idea ...

... and I like the painted corrugated cardboard too. We used white acrylic paint around the photo and over the flowers which I thought finished them off beautifully, I added the butterfly washi to cover a booboo, but it suits the picture of my niece, as she loves butterflies, so that's ok!

Lou showed us how to create a transparent corner by splashing acetate with acrylic paint, and we added a piece of zip fastener to make a funky opening ...

... I love the contrast of the zipper and the splashy corner against the pretty flowers. The title was created by stamping alphas onto plain card, then cutting them out, and the smaller words were stamped directly onto the page ...

It was supposed to say "Create", which suited the whole artsy feel of the design, but I thought the colours and sense of fun were perfect for this photo of my beautiful niece Georgia on her wedding day.

Would you like to know why they were all laughing when this picture was taken? Well, apparently James (in the middle) had just said, "I've got the heaviest bit!", they had all fallen about laughing and Georgie was telling him off! :o)

Hope finish another UFO tomorrow - watch this space ...

Thanks for popping in, see you again soon.
