A Handbag ?!?!!?

Hi Everyone,

Still working my way through UFOs from the Scrapstars retreat and I have another finished project to show you - a handbag mini with a surprise inside :o)

I bought this kit from the sale box, because the mix of Websters Pages papers, pretty ribbons and gorgeous metal trinkets caught my Magpie Eye. Someone told me it was from a previous retreat workshop with the talented Emma Trout, where she made a beautiful handbag mini album. I didn't have any instructions, but some of the Scrapstars girls sent me photos of their finished projects, which were so inspiring that I decided to give it a go. I was thrilled to bits with the result and made this little film, as the photos don't really show it properly ...

Here are some close-ups and a look at the surprise inside ...

I cut an oval of patterned paper to fit the metal frame and applied a thick coat of Crackle Accents, the rose and leaves were fussy-cut from WP paper and adhered with foam dots for extra dimension. I tied a big bow with one of the ribbons and hot-glued this and the bead trim to decorate my handbag.

The charms were added with jump rings and tied with ribbons to match the colour scheme. Not too happy with my faux stitching, but hey I'll have to live with it now! I love how the metal findings give the effect of a real handbag :o)

Distress Paints and Distress Inks were used to add an aged effect to my project and I went for a complete contrast to line the inside. The tag was decorated with jars which were fussy cut from some of the patterned paper and I'll use it as a gift tag when I give this away.

Inside is a tiny wallet mini album, all made of paper bags and patterned papers. Here is a close look at my wallet ..

This is just like my real wallet - full of stuff shoved into every available  pocket! And there are so many spaces for photos and journaling ...

It was so much fun to do - but you should have SEEN the state of my room by the tmie I'd finished!!

Thanks for visiting my blog today, see you again soon :o)
