WOYWW #332

Hello Everyone,

It's a lovely bright autumnal day here, I hope you're having a great day wherever you are :o)

It's also Wednesday again, so it's time to share my workdesk with the world by linking up over at Julia's Stamping Ground where I can have a good old snout around other people's creative spaces over a nice cup of coffee. Here's mine this morning ...

It looks like not a lot is going on there .... that's because there's not a lot going on! This is how I left it on Friday evening after I'd finished making the "Gatefold Shutter Card" I mentioned last WOYWW and I haven't had chance to get back in there since then. I did at least crack the gatefold shutter thingy though and it was great fun to make. Here are a couple of pics ...

It's hard to show how it works in still photos, but you slide off the decorative band and as you open the card, the aperture inside slides open automatically ...

... to reveal your message ...

... and of course I had to add some bunting and stuff just for a bit of extra fun! If you would like a better look at how this works and maybe make one yourself, there are loads of tutorials on YT. To go straight to one of my favourites click here.

Ok I'm off to make another coffee and see what everyone else has been up to this week. See you at Julia's!

Thanks for popping in today, see you again soon :o)

Well, that's just too clever for words! I've always had a soft spot for paper engineering, as does my eldest son. We spent many a happy hour when he was younger, cutting out buildings and fitting them together to make Ankh Morpork (we're heavily into Discworld!) and other paper automata. You could so easily adapt that card for any occasion...my favourite today!!
