Learn Every Day

Hi Everyone,

I've finished another one of my UFOs from Scrapstars - well, nearly finished!! I still have a bit of journaling to do and maybe a subtitle ... but it's as finished as it's going to get for right now.

For this class we got messy with Lisa Abbot-Saunders from the Lollipop Box Club. We had fun using paint to create a watercolour effect for the background, but my favourite part was making a hand drawn and cut title ...

It was a real revelation for me. so easy to do and totally absorbing - and it even made my ropey handwriting look arty-farty. Also, as Lisa pointed out, it's completely free! :o)

Our kit for this workshop was a mini Lollipop Box Club kit, which included lots of printed images which we could cut or punch out to embellish the page, as well as enamel dots, washi and some other cute things. They were all wrapped in coordinating colours of tissue paper, so I used some of that as an extra layer behind my photo. I messed up in the top right corner, so I added the flock of butterflies punched from paper scraps nto cover up my booboo, but quite liked the effect. I plan to do some scribbly journaling on the white part of the photo frame, and maybe a subtitle "something every day".

The theme of Lisa's page was "Daily Tasks", which just didn't speak to me, so my page is going to be about how I try to learn something new every day. The photo was taken a couple of months before my wedding in 2011, when I was learning how to do flower arranging - this was my first attempt!

Thanks for popping in to see me today, see you again soon :o)
