Hi Everyone,
This week I have been mostly getting ready for the GoGoGetaway weekend which is only a couple of weeks away now wooHOOO!! Very excited :o)
The GoGo ladies have set us several challenges to do either before or during the event, so I thought this was a great chance to do some limbering up as I haven't been doing much scrapping recently. I decided to make up a kit for each of the challenges, and had a lovely time rummaging through my mountains of stash and totally trashing my room ... AGAIN!!
It was my birthday this week, so I thought it would be fun to scrap this picture of Yours Truly as a new baby, in the arms of my Mum. Clearly it was laundry day, as you can see the nappies blowing in the breeze behind us ...
... mind you, with all those terry nappies to wash, there were probably a lot of laundry days. No automatic washing machine or tumble dryer either. My poor Mum was probably exhausted when this picture was taken - but I do love how it's captured this quiet moment.
For this challenge, we had to be inspired by these five elements -
This was a lot of fun and I managed to use all of the elements. I decided to combine the shades of yellow with neutral grey and white and a splash of lilac for a fresh, spring-like combination. The biggest challenge was the fussy-cutting (which kept coming out as "futty-cussing" every time I tried to say it). I just couldn't find any papers which would fit with my page, so in the end I coloured a sheet of card with Distress Inks in shades of purple and yellow, stamped flowers and butterflies over it with black Memento and cut out the images to create a cluster of flowers and a flutter of butterflies.
I took all nine kits with me to Crafty Day yesterday, and didn't even manage to finish this one completely - too much tuime spent chatting, drinking coffee and eating choc chunk cookies! But today I've finished that one and made three more which I'll blog over the next few days.
Thanks for popping in today, see you again very soon :o)

For this challenge, we had to be inspired by these five elements -
- Use shades of yellow
- Fussy cut at least ten items
- Tear something
- Frame it
- Use stars, or stripes, or both
