Giggles to GoGo!!

Hey everyone,

Here's ANOTHER one of my warm-up pages for GoGo Getaway in a couple of weeks. This time the challenge was to be inspired by these five elements devised by Terri -
  • Multiple photos
  • Patterned papers
  • Flair
  • Luggage Tag
  • Enamel dots

Sorry about the rubbish photo, the light is really dreary here in my part of the UK today and the picture's come out really dull. I found a fabulous sketch by Susan Stringfellow for this one -

It really helps to have a sketch to kick me off in the right direction - usually I go off-piste quite a bit, but this time I followed it fairly closely and it all came together really easily.

Part of the challenge was to use at least three patterned papers - this was HUGE fun!! I used TEN in the end, can you believe it??!!?

You can see the green dotty paper framing the whole page and the "gutted" part of it as one of the layers (1). I used a piece from the reverse to cover the luggage tag (2) and punched a circle from it to make my DIY "flair". Then I cut another sheet of double-sided pp (3) in half and reversed one part (4) to give me two coordinating patterns for the the main background. More layering with the pink chevron paper (5) and the blue striped branding strip (6), then I used odd pieces of pp to die-cut the flower (7) and the scalloped lace (8), cover the chipboard flourish (9) and create little photo corners (10)

The title and smaller flourishes were die cut from plain brown cardstock and doodled with white Posca Pen to give them more "oomph". And that beautiful bejewelled flower is another long-hoarded and oft-stroked treasure which I believe came from the lovely Lizzy Hill in Oz. Thanks Lizzy!

I have one more left to show you and another still to complete before the Big Day :o) I really need to get my photos ready for the classes as well - that's the part I really struggle with, especially finding multiple photos for the same page. maybe I will print them in B/W, that might make it easier ...

Thanks for visiting my blog today, hope you're having a good day wherever you are :o)

Yes! I'm with you B&W photos do make it easier.... but then again, sometimes they can be a tad boring!!! Sooo glad you used the flower! I'm loving digging deep into my stash this year. Feels good! And we'll done getting a tag in. I have terrible trouble using them!!!

What a fun page with the perfect title. Great interpretation of the sketch. Love the way you go off-piste - you're a girl after my own heart.
