Hi everyone,
On the 24th of March I'll be heading off to Herts with my scrappy mate Trina for the GoGoGetaway event we've been looking forward to for months - I can't believe it's nearly here and I'm just a teeeeeeny bit excited!! :o)
The pre-retreat challenges have been very inspiring, and a great way to get limbered up for the retreat, especially as I haven't been flexing my scrapping muscles so much lately. This was the challenge for February ...

I used seven out of the nine listed here to create my page. Can you spot them????
This layout started off as a scraplift of a page by "Harbourgal" which I spotted on the Studio Calico blog - but of course I went totally off-piste as you do! This is a photo of my good friend Maggie and me, on a day out in Cornwall in 2011. Of course I had to make a coordinating pocket page to include the boys ...
That bottom right pocket is actually empty, but I took the photo against white paper. I'm thinking of filling it with more sequins, or ticket stubs and other mementos from our trip.
To make these pages, I mostly used stuff from my latest Quirky Kit.The main background paper with that lovely brushed paint effect is Pink Paislee Paige Evans 08. I also used #16 from the same series, plus a couple of sheets from the Crate Paper Maggie Holmes Chasing Dreams series. The tag is from a Dear Lizzy cut-apart sheet and I made good use of a sticker sheet by Echo Park. The glitter alphas are Thickers but I can't remember where the gold letter tiles came from. There are some diecut words from a previous Quirky Kit, rubber shapes from Amy Tangerine, plus washi, twine and various doodads from my stash. I used a black liner to add scribbly lines and doodles for a bit of definition.
I definitely feel out of practice with scrapping - I've been consumed by mixed media lately and there's just not enough time to do everything I'd like to do - but these challenges are definitely warming up my mojo. Here's the next one I need to chew on over the weekend ...
Is that totally gorgeous or WOT!!? ! :o)
Thanks for stopping by today, see you again soon.
