Little Star

Hi everyone,

WELL!! I have scrapped more in the past ten days than I have in the past ten months and I'm loving it!! This is another warm-up challenge for GoGoGetaway (which is less than a week away now wooohooooooo!!!!). It was a sketch challenge and again I'm not sure if I'm allowed to share the sketch or not, so I'd better not just in case. But I CAN share my page ...

So, we had a sketchby Sarah to follow, but we had free reign on everything else. I decided to take my inspiration from this lovely pic of my DH with little grandson Finley when he was brand new, just over two years ago now.

I wanted to page to be warm and cuddly, but with a masculine feel, so I used wood, fabric and a little touch of metal, and lots of stars to echo the title. The wood patterned paper framing the page is from a recent Quirky Kit, but other than that I used some really old supplies, and I made good use of some of my dies ...
  • The word STAR and two of the larger stars are die-cut from an ancient roll of sticky-backed felt.
  • The paint splats were die-cut from some elderly yellow vellum.
  • The movie wheel is one of my favourite dies, this time with yellow vellum window
The fabric pp which looks like grey t-shirt fabric one side and blue plaid on the other with stitched labels was a small piece I rummaged out of my scrap drawer, can't remember who made it but I still think it's fabulous and wish I had more. There's also a circle of real denim from a pair of old jeans for an extra tactile element.

This was a very quick, easy and stash-busting page and I'm SO glad I've been getting back into scrapping again.

Thanks for stopping by today, see you again soon :o)

Well you certainly achieved the warm, cuddly and masculine feel. Love that the elderly vellum came out to play and the film roll thingo looks great. Love the way you are getting into the mood for your retreat, by flexing your scrappy muscles.

Another great layout and I love the use of the more masculine colours even though there is a baby. I have to say I am a little jealous of you going on a retreat. How cool is that. Sounds like so much fun. Cant wait to see what you get up to there.
