Visiting Eden

Hello Everyone,

Today I've been tinkering with some of the pages I made at Go Go Getaway last weekend - I'm not the fastest scrapper in the world and I always find I need to finish things off at home.

The first one I have to show you was from a class called Colour, Colour with lovely Giselle from the Go Go team, who showed us how to use Gelatos, metallic pencils and fine black ink pens to create interesting backgrounds for our pages.

We worked with a palette of greens, golds and soft blues and used a Micron pen to doodle Zentangle-style patterns. Then we chopped the finished piece into 2" squares and mixed these with patterned papers to form a grid design ...

These pictures show my little great-nephew and great-niece at the Eden Project in Cornwall last summer. I love how the colours and shapes we used in this class echo the lush foliage, blue sky and the sections of the huge glass dome above them.

As a final touch, we did a lot of "futty-cussing" from patterned papers to embellish the page however we liked. Of course, I got a bit carried away, but you have to make it your own don't you? :o)

Thanks for stopping by today, see you again soon!
