Random Landscape

HI everyone,

I've been having a lovely arty-farty catch-up this Bank Holiday weekend. Here's my page inspired by a lesson with the wonderful Clair Bremner for Week 7 of Wanderlust 2017 ...

Clair uses acrylic paints to create the most beautiful, tranquil, fantastical landscapes. I was fascinated to watch her work - her skill with paintbrushes was so impressive. She made it look so easy to paint different shapes of leaves with round brushes; she used huge household brushes to apply paint, adding lots of water and allowing it to run down the page over the previous layers; then she used really small brushes to add tiny repeating patterns over the top.

Needless to say, it wasn't as easy as Clair made it look and mine wandered off in a different direction and found a different path - but I'm very happy with how it ended up. The accidental shape in the bottom right kinda looked like a figure silhouetted against the background, so I doodled around the shape to emphasise it.

I'm really enjoying Wanderlust, but not keeping up with all the  lessons. That isn't important though - I'm enjoying the lessons, learning and being inspired and dipping in and out as and when I have time to play. So much arty-farting to do and so little time! :o)

Thanks for popping in to see me today, see you again soon!

Superb art in the calming blues and greens. She seems to be about to embark on a journey to her inner self. Love the tiny details and the light of the yellow. Magical!

Love all those blues, Annie. Thanks for the info, my DIL birthday isn't till October, so I have plenty of time. That £15 limit is really annoying, I agree. And it seems to be luck of the draw whether you get charged or not. I've had packages worth a lot more that got through, and others that barely skimmed that and got charged! Plus the £8 for the Post Office collecting it!
I ordered mine from Craft World, in Scotland, as they had the best pre-order price for it I could find. http://www.craftworldonline.co.uk/tim-holtz-stamping-platform-by-tonic---1708e-46096-p.asp
She is taking pre-orders again, for dispatch in May.

Wow, Annie, this looks fantastic! You totally put your own spin on it and came up with something very unique! I've watched this lesson, but haven't attempted it yet. You're right - dipping in and out is the best way to do these courses, so you don't feel any obligation, just enjoy the bits that you do. We can always go back to the lessons we missed later, as long as we've got the videos saved - which I'm doing religiously! I haven't been around much, but hope to return soon! xx

This is simply gorgeous Annie. The colours are divine and there's a great sense of depth. The page looks like someone observing a very peaceful woodland scene xx
