Hi Everyone,
You know that thing that sometimes happens, where something inspires you and you become obsessed with it and just can't get enough of it? Well, that happens to me quite often and this week it has all been about collage with printed images. Here's my first one ...
There are many YouTube tutorials and process videos, but one of my favourites is CraftyHodges - check out her channel for loads of inspiration. Here's what I did ...
Working in my Amazon Art Journal (made with recycled packaging), I started by making some Gelli prints on Deli Paper for my backgrounds. Rolling off any excess paint onto the journal pages gave me a good starting point, onto which I just brayered more paint - mostly in neutral colours, with just touches of colour here and there. Then I tore the Deli Gelli papers into pieces and glued them on to my pages randomly, using Pritt Stick.
I prepped a whole load of pages in this way, and then the fun really began! I had already spent many contented hours cutting out printed images from Crowabout StudioB, which I had purchased from Mischief Circus - as well as a couple of magazines ...
It was SO much fun putting the pieces together to create characters - the Crowabout StudioB collage sheets even have the border pieces to finish the page. I used PrismaColour Pencils to accentuate and define the images and add colour and detail to the backgrounds.
I enjoyed this so much that I finished five collages over the weekend!! But I'll save the rest for another day :o)
Thanks for popping in today, see you again soon!
