Hello Everyone,
The March Counterfeit Kit Challenge is a bit different from the usual, in that we are taking our inspiration from a kit put together by Susan, one of the CKC Design Team. Susan was in turn inspired by this challenge on Jill Sprott's blog - check it out if you want to do some serious stash-busting.
Susan followed Jill's formula to create her kit, which she called "Little Bits of Happy" - click on the link if you would like to have a look. She suggested starting with a multi-coloured patterned paper and taking your colour scheme from there, which is exactly what I did.
Mine is called "Bubble and Squeak" (can you guess why?) ...
Following Jill's formula and taking Susan's kit as inspiration, I took my colours from that striped pp in the middle and pulled out several partial pieces of pp, including spots, woodgrain, floral and stripes ...
I added three whole sheets, including a tiny dot, a text print and a sheet of plain watercolour paper ...
... and a couple of partially-used cut-apart sheets ...
Then came some "special papers" - gold tissue, mesh and a woodgrain-printed acetate overlay ...
I dug out a large wood veneer piece I've been wanting to use for ages but not sure what to do with it, then found a really old die-cut alpha set and a part-used sticker sheet, an opened pack of woodgrain sequins, an unopened pack of eyelets and a roll of tape ...
I grabbed the little owl and the word diecut from a basket nearby, threw in the photo frame just because I love it and the framed tags which are one of my oldest scrappy supplies. Some jute ribbon and string were added to the mix, along with a bag of wooden letters which need using and a glassine bag which I thought fitted into "special papers".
Oh, and the reason for the name of my kit ...... it's because bubble and squeak is something you make with leftovers :o)
Thanks for visiting me today, hope to see you again soon!
