Hello to all my Bloggy Friends,
I've been almost totally AWOL lately, lots of other stuff going on and not much time to play at the moment, let alone blog about it, but I did want to quickly show you what I got in my last couple of ScrawlR boxes, because I am so smitten with these little kits - for £15 a month, you get a neat box full of a variety of pens, pencils and other art supplies, along with some inspiration to get you started.
Here's the November kit ...
Lots of things in here I haven't tried working with before - such as coloured biros, a graphite stick and an eraser pencil, along with some gorgeous coloured pencils, a white gel pen and several other useful items, plus a really nice quality plain paper notebook.
The featured artist for November was Taylor Brooker, and the challenge to inspire us was "Body Parts". Here's what I came up with, using only items from the kit ...
I did use the coloured pencils to add some subtle tints of colour, but the photo doesn't really show that very well.
Here are some of the pencils from the October kit, with a few other Prismacolor pencils thrown in, and a sketch I was working on for that month's challenge, which was "Washed Up" (I will finish it eventually) ...
And finally, here's the December kit which arrived a couple of days ago ...
This month, the featured artist is Ann Pellegrino, and we have two inspiration pieces to get us going. Again, the kit includes items I have not tried before and I'm looking forward to playing with them and seeing how they interact together. The pastel highlighters are Pilot FriXion pens, which can be erased by rubbing with the special tip on the other end. There's a medium black FriXion pen as well, plus a fine and ultra-fine Sharpies. For some reason the silver Pentel extra-fine paint marker isn't in the picture. The paper this month is some white 210gsm cartridge paper.
The challenge for December is "Pastel Petals" .... hmmmm ... hopefully I'll get time to have a go at that over the Christmas holiday.
Thanks very much for popping in today, see you again soon :o)
