CSI #275 - Love this!

HI everyone,

The March Case Files have been released over at CSI: Color, Stories, Inspiration. There are three altogether, you can do any or all of them, and you have a whole month to submit your entries via the CSI Facebook group to be in with a chance of winning one of the fabulous prizes on offer.

Here's Case File #275 -

No photo description available.

You can choose to draw your own inspiration from the Scene, or you can follow the clues which Debbi has found to inspire us. Scroll to the bottom of the reveal post on the CSI blog to see all the DT pages and find all the clues, or go to the Facebook group, where you'll find an individual album for each Case File - this is where you'll find all the clues and it's also the place to share your finished page.

Here's how I solved Case File #275 -

The handpainted style and zingy colours in the Scene really appealed to me and I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to scrap a funny story. I tried to capture the feel of a strip cartoon, inspired by the frames and the words in the Case File.

My husband and I were relaxing with drinks in the garden one sunny afternoon, when the swing seat collapsed under us! Eeek!! John heroically managed not to spill a drop and I jumped straight up to take a picture, leaving my shoes behind. We laughed so much we nearly wet ourselves :o)

As always, I chose to follow the clues old-school style -
  • Scheme - colours are all there, slightly different shades of green though.
  • Evidence - floral pattern (which I fussy-cut), stripes, polka dots, potted plants, leaves, frames, watercolour pencils.
  • Testimony - I framed my journaling.
I especially enjoyed punching some of the circles from my polka dot paper, sticking them onto my background and doodling around them with watercolour pencils and a fine pen, inspired by the hand-drawn and painted style of the image.

That's it from me - why not have a go a one or more of this month's Case Files yourself, keep an eye on the FB group for more inspiration and ideas throughout the month.

See you there!
