March ScrawlrBox - Colouring In!

Hi there bloggy peeps,

I just finished making this card, using some of the goodies from the March ScrawlrBox ...

The March box was full of fun stuff to play with as always - here's a quick peek ..

This month, it's mostly about pencils - we got a pack of 12 Staedtler soft coloured pencils, a nice fat graphite pencil, a Derwent burnisher, Derwent blender, a Koh-I-Noor woodless coloured pencil in white, a dual sharpener, a black Pilot drawing pen, a sketch book and a sweetie (which I tried out immediately!). There was also a colouring sheet, but I wasn't impressed with that, because the paper was shiny with no tooth, so didn't work at all well for colouring pencils, but everything else was fab.

They also include an illustration by a different artist each month, along with a challenge to inspire us. For March, the inspiration word was "Enchantress" and the challenge was to create a line drawing inspired by the featured artist, then scan and save it so you can colour it over and over and share it with your friends.

The Enchantress idea just wasn't calling to me, but I loved the idea of creating a colouring-in page to share and use multiple times as backgrounds for cards. I went with bunting to create a cheerful design which will work for many occasions ...

Then I scanned it before colouring in ....

Then all I had to do was mount it onto a contrasting colour, add my sentiment and finish with a touch of shimmer pen to the "YAY".

Here's a link to the colouring sheet if you would like to use it - the link takes you to Dropbox, where you can just click to download the file and then print it off as many times as you would like (you don't need to have a Dropbox account yourself).

Thanks very much for visiting me today, see you again soon :o)

What a happy card - I bet you had fun trying out your new pencils! It must be so exciting getting those boxes in the post! I sometimes buy a Craft Box (without subscribing), so I know the feeling - you never know what you gonna get - a bit like a present to look forward to. Have a happy week! xx
