WOYWW #582

Hello Fellow Deskers,

It's What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday feels so good to be back in the game :o)

Here's mine today, not much going on as I've "tidied" between projects ...

On the chair, you can see my favourite cardi, handknitted by my good friend Trina, and my latest art journal, now FULL! Time to make another one - I love using covers from old books and filling with mixed media paper, using coptic binding which helps it to lie flat when it's open.

On the desk I've been swatching these Derwent watercolour pencils in skintone colours. I've had them knocking around for years, I think they may have been my Mum's actually, but they've barely been used so I decided it's time to get them out. They seem pretty good, except weirdly the terracotta colour, which doesn't move AT ALL when you apply water. Very strange, the others are all fine.

Anyway, that's me for now - I will go and link up over at Julia's Stamping Ground and have a snoop around everyone else's desks to see what you've all been up to this week. See you there!

Thanks for popping in today.

I have storage box envy!! Look at them all, so floral and pretty and stacked so beautifully. I could spend a happy couple of hours nosing around them all, lol! (Ooh, that makes me sound like a weird stalker......lol!). I love the colour of that cardi and bet it really suits you.

Looks like your desk had a proper makeover while you were gone, Annie! Love those colourful drawers! Would love to have a leaf through that chunky journal. Coptic is not something I've ever tried - looked way too complicated to me when I watched tutorials, but it's only because I don't have the patience. Lovely to have you back on WOYWW! zsuzsa #23

What gorgeous storage drawers you have Annie. I expect that the Terracotta pencil has had water on the tip at some point which may have wicked down the lead and that is why it won't move. That is the danger if you pick up colour from a water colour pencil taking a wet brush to the tip, especially with Inktense as they are permanent once dry again. You could try sharpening it a few times and see if you get past the problem area. Stay safe and happy belated WOYWW. Sarah #10

Hi Annie. Sorry I am a day late got a bit tied up with paint and phonecalls yesterday!! I love all those storage drawers. Did you cover the front edges? They look SO good. Liking the colour of your cardigan, too - and the journal cover is such fun.
Take care. God bless.

Your desk is an absolute delight, Annie, so organised and so pretty with all those gorgeous drawers and boxes! Puts mine to shame at the moment, as it's a perpetual tip and dumping ground. I am more proud of my pantry at present! The watercolour pencils look lovely. I hope you manage to sort the problem of the terracotta one. It looks as if Sarah has got some good advice there.

Happy belated WOYWW,
