Hello there fellow Deskers and happy What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday :o)

Here's my little workroom today ...

Were you fooled? just for a moment?? This is, of course, the miniature sewing room I had just started on last week, so I thought you might like to see how it went.

It's not quite finished - I still have to add the lighting and complete the shell with a false ceiling and hinged wall, but you get the gist. Here's how it will snuggle into one of my bookshelves ...

If you look reeeeeeeeeally closely, you will see that the tiny lady who works in this room is just about to give a final pressing to a face mask she's made ...

I thought it would be fun to add a little memento of 2020 for posterity :o)

Here's my real workdesk this morning ...

I've been cutting out the fabrics ready to make the Rococo outit for this shameless lady. I've left her bald as I may do my own thing with the hair later, instead of what's in the kit. I also want to try and incorporate this beautiful piece of fine silk embroidery which I have been hoarding for years ...

It really is so beautifully done, the back looks almost as good as the front and it feels so delicate and, well, silky. Thought I might try running it down the front of her dress as a decorative panel. Or maybe the back, as it's one of those sack dresses with the full length pleated drape of fabric at the back.

Anyway, enough waffle, we have an early morning booking for a walk around one of our local National Trust treasures, Felbrigg - which should be lovely, but I may want to be home sitting in the shade by lunchtime as it's set to be another scorcher!

Quick nip over to Julia's to link up and then I'll be back later to see what everyone else has been doing this week. See you there!

I was completely fooled!! How clever is that little room...and you, for putting it all together. I noticed the old Singer straight away and the mask made me lol...you have WAY more patience than me to work in such a tiny way. I love it!! The Brazen Hussy made me smile too, blimey, she believes in letting it all hang out eh? I thought of a front panel of the dress straight away for that beautiful embroidery.
And yes, I was up at the crack of sparrows this morning, am already looking forward to my afternoon siesta.......

That's so cute! Complete with very realistic clutter - just wonderful! Some of those things must be absolutely tiny! Your shameless lady needs dressing PDQ, though we can't blame her in this heat. The embroidery will look great on her. Happy WOYWW! zsuzsa #19

Hi Annie, love your project. I've seen a few of these 'rooms' created to go on bookshelves, think it's a fab idea. That embroidered panel is so rich and vibrant, it will indeed make a lovely front panel for her dress- you can't hide it at the back! Stay safe, have a lovely week, hugs, Shaz #4 X

You got me. I was just about to comment on your sewing machine. Well, I love what you have done, it is fabulous - and the ironing board. I have never heard of these on bookshelves but now I have seen this I am wondering if I have something I can put on a book case.
Love the embroidery and looking forward to the young lady covering her modesty LOL
Hugs, Neet 8 xx
Yes! completely fooled me it's brilliant! I can well understand why you have kept that embroidered panel for so long, it's beautiful but maybe you've found just the right time to use it. Wishing you a very happy week and a lovely creative woyww, Angela x16x

That tiny room is absolutely amazing, such detail. Beautiful little panel too . Happy WOYWW Angela #23
Annie your wee sewing room looks fantastic nestled between the book shelves what a clever lady you are and I adore your shameless lady, it's what we are all wearing in this heat hee hee!! She's magnificent, my children brought me doll making books a couple of Christmas's ago as they were fed up of finding heads and bodies without legs but they are still immobile. That piece of fabric will look stunning what ever you decide to do with it. Beautiful shares Happy Woyww Tracey #3 xx

Sorry I’m late Annie, internet failure, I suspect Sky will blame the weather. I was fooled, just for a second...and do you know why? Because it looks cool and shaded so I looked for the window! How incredible it is and i just love it on the bookshelf. Perfect. Even little hooks under the shelf, man you are one patient and nimble fingered crafter!

I've tried to comment twice already, Annie, and it keeps disappearing... here goes, again! I absolutely love your tiny room - I was fooled only for a split second, because I thought the little ironing board looked so dinky! Your attention to detail is astonishing - it's absolutely amazing. It looks fantastic slotted between those gorgeous vintage books - so appropriate! Are you going to start making tiny carpets, too? Lol! That piece of embroidered silk is a real treasure, so beautiful. I am sure you will do something spectacular with it and make your poor little naked lady look stunning, especially if you give her a fine head of hair too!

Happy belated WOYWW,
