WOYWW #590

 Hello Fellow Deskers,

Wednesday has come around again, and so it's time to show everyone What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday. I'll show you mine if you'll show me yours, just pop over to Julia's Stamping Ground to join in the fun.

I've missed a couple of weeks due to being busy with Other Stuff, but I have been able to squeeze in some crafting - and inspired by other Deskers I've made a start on Christmas cards woohoo, get me!!

Never have so many Christmas cards been made so early in my craft room  - possibly it's something to do with being retired now :o) I pulled out all of my hoarded Christmas-themed stamp sets, dies and papers and promised myself to use the whole lot. Mostly they're front-of-magazine "free" gifts.

Here's a peek at the results so far ...

The second photo shows some experiments with a technique I saw on You Tube, where you ink up embossing folders before running them through your machine, to add colour to the non-raised area. Fun to do, quite interesting results.

Well, after a couple of gorgeously sunshiney days, it's turned dreary here today, so that's a good excuse to spend the day playing in my room again. First though it's time to nip over to Julia's and have a good old snout at everyone else's craft spaces - see you there!

Hi Annie. We are getting rather efficient aren't we? Christmas cards already on the go!! I like what you have done so far - well done. Yes, I like that technique with embossing folders, too. The results are fun.
Take care. God bless.

I didn't know you retired, Annie. I'm a bit envious. I've still got many years to go - 16/17 or so. Lucky, I only work part time - I couldn't bear the thought of full time work again - although sometimes it feels I'm doing full-time work for part-time pay - but at least I can do most of it from home now. Loving those embossed backgrounds and the completed cards. Happy WOYWW! zsuzsa #20

Hi Annie, another retiree here, but as I'd been off sick for the last 3 or so years, not really noticed a difference, lol. Love the Christmas cards, and I've yet to try the embossing folder technique, keep meaning to give it a go. They look really cool. Stay safe, have a lovely week, hugs, Shaz #4
Ooops my comment vanished.. Love the polar bear card, nice start to Christmas Annie. Inking of embossing folders can be very effective and a quick way of laying down colour. Have fun experimenting & happy WoywW Tracey #5 x

Annie your cards are just precious! I think I have given up all together on Christmas cards!! Yikes! I try to get a jump on them and then time gets away from me!! I love the embossing idea! Looks great! I've got 4 more years for retirement and I'm hoping my days will be filled with more arty goodness then!! LOL Blessings, Felicia #25

I "might" start thinking about my christmas cards soon.... or then again not! well done. I am starting to think fondly of retirement but it will have to wait a bit yet.... Happy WOYWW Helen #3
I've started some Christmas cards but then other stuff distracts me. You have done so well with these and they look really nice. Wishing you a happy and creative woyww, Angela x15x

Autumn has arrived here too, indeed great weather to spend the day crafting... I always am surprised to see people creating X-mas cards this early (I usually wait 'till the last week *lol*) Good job! Thanks for your visit to my blog yesterday! Have a great week/weekend, stay safe! love from the Netherlands! Marit #1

What a brilliant idea to use all your hoarded Christmas stuff! I may do something similar!
I don't know about Christmas though - having to post from Australia this year may be quite expensive...

Oh Annie, you’re being super organised! That already looks like quite a number of cards. If I pull out my hoarded stuff I’ll have to admit to having more unused than I want to, so will put it off for a bit longer I think! I think you’ve done a great job with the inked embossing folders, I tend to get fingerprints and very very uneven colouring, you must have a knack that I don’t!

Being retired is quite wonderful but sometimes there is an internal argument about what I want to do first! Too many crafts, not enough time!! I like the results of your inky embossing, very elegant indeed.
