WOYWW #608

 Hello Bloggy Friends and Deskers,

It's another Wednesday, time to take a pic of What's On Your Workdesk this week and pop over to Julia's Stamping Ground to link up, grab a coffee and have a wander around some other creative spaces to see what everyone else has been up to.

Here's mine, as I left it last night ...

I'm in the throes of starting this week's Let's Face It class with Natalie Eslick. You can see the reference photo to the left. We're starting with a sketch, then some watercolours (I got a bit carried away with mine), then we're going in with coloured pencils, which I can't wait to get stuck into this afternoon.

It did seem a bit greedy to treat myself to not just one but three, yes THREE, online art workshops to celebrate my 60th birthday this year, but I'm having a ball with them so far and learning such a lot, even from the "failures" and what a way to kick off my retirement as I mean to go on :o)

So that's me for today, I'm off to Julia's, see you there!

Oh please don't stint yourself!! I just wish I had time to do more courses, can barely find time to watch a few videos a week. This is AWESOME. can't wait to see it finished. Happy WOYWW, stay well, stay safe, Cindy xx #8

I think it’s a fab way to learn new techniques and can’t think of a better present tbh, we have enough stuff already! I’ve enjoyed seeing your portraits develop, you have a real flair. And you made me laugh out loud this morning with your story about the gin and the painting, lolol!!! Maybe that’s the way to go, a whole new approach to crafting unconsciously :-D

A great way to kick start your retirement, Annie! I am so glad you are enjoying the online courses. It's not something I've ever done because I haven't got the time or energy for such a commitment I'm afraid, and I don't think I'm disciplined enough to stick to the course!! I love your picture so far. You are very talented.

Thank you for your visit - and for your encouragement re the kitty throw! I've decided to do a few more of that particular square. The end of the squares is definitely in sight now but there are a lot of embellishments still to make. Regarding the kale, I quite like the Cavolo Nero which is definitely less bitter than regular kale, but it's all terribly chewy and hard work! I make a nice kale salad with it and spend about 5 minutes massaging it with lemon juice and salt to soften it bit. I think in order to get enough of the stuff inside me to be doing me the good it's supposed to do, green smoothies with nice crunchy textured toppings are the way to go for me!

Happy WOYWW,

Happy WOYWW. A beautiful start for your online class. I have got 3 classes waiting to be finished or started. Farm and property business has been taking up far too much time! Could do with another day in the week, just for crafting. Ali x. #26

I think it is SO important to have an outlet, particularly now, so I think the classes are an investment you should be proud to have chosen! As a red head I approve of your new face too! Stay safe and keep smiling, Lisa-Jane #10

Annie, good for you! You deserve to treat yourself after you've given half of your life to work! I have a few short years left and I aim to craft the latter portion of my life till the cows come home! LOL I love your painting by the way, carried away or not! I think "your" interpretation could never been deemed as carried away! It's yours, own it and smile! Can't wait to see the finished product! Blessings to you and stay safe! Felicia #28

Good for you for getting yourself some worthy birthday gifts Annie. If you have the time and enjoy them I don't see why you shouldn't have three workshops on the go. Love your latest WIP. Stay safe and happy WOYWW. Sarah #3

Fantastic! good for you to treat yourself but then also to do the work and enjoy it! Your painting is terrific so far, the position of her hands makes me think she is in need of support and is self comforting herself. ~ Enjoy your weekend & your classes! Love, Karen#32
