2 Cute!

Hi everyone,

The April challenge over at SJ Crafts is this gorgeous mood board full of spring sunshine ...

You can use the mood board any way you like to inspire your project - it may be the colours; design elements such as flowers, cork or stars; the composition; the quote - or anything else that grabs you!

Here's what I came up with - a fun, happy page all about my little step-granddaughter and how quickly she is growing up ...

I decided to create a pinboard-style page, following the layout of the mood board and using sticky pearls and enamel dots to "pin" items to the background.

The chalky pastels in the Chalk Studio 2 collection help to give the layout a fresh, fun feel and contrast beautifully with the Chalk Studio chipboard pieces, frames and stickers. I altered them a bit to make them fit my page perfectly - more about that in a minute!

I've picked up the peach/green/yellow colour combo in my embellishments and other elements picked from the mood board added some interest and fun to my page - washi tape, flowers, cork arrows and wood veneer stars. Finally, the quote inspired my journalling ...

It was great fun altering some of the embellishments - these little cork arrows from the American Crafts DIY Shop collection are so cute just are they are ...

... but I really fancied the striped ones you can see on the packaging, so I took my trusty white journaling pen and added some ...

I love the MME Chalk Studio Decorative Frame - I backed it with coloured vellum ...

... and then sanded and inked the edges to make it coordinate with my page ...

One of the stickers from the Chalk Studio collection was adhered to a piece of the patterned paper, cut out and finished with an enamel dot ...

Then I used the chalk inks to colour another sticker from the Chalk Studio 2 collection ...

... and a word for my title cut from one of the patterned paper sheets ...

The number 2 for my title was fussy-cut from one of the cut-apart sheets ...

... adhered to a piece of the patterned paper and then cut out again and given extra dimension with foam dots ...

... whilst the piece it was cut from was backed with the same patterned paper to created an embellishment for another project ...

Bingo! two for the price of one :o)

Well that's quite enough waffle from me - why not have a go at the challenge yourself? You have until 30th of April - for all the details and lots of inspiration, check out the SJ Crafts blog

Thanks for popping in, see you again soon :o)xxx

I love how you've adapted the embellies by adding paint/pen - pretty page with a lovely design.
