Hi Everyone, I've been catching up with week 17 of Life Book 2016 - this time, the lovely Roxanne Coble showed us how to build up lots of layers of collage, paint and penwork to create a space to honour some important events in our lives. It was a brilliant class, full of tips and ideas and inspiration. My new Golden paints got their first airing and I made the most wonderfully colourful mess on my desk! Here's what I ended up with -

Hi Everyone, I have another finished Scrapstars page to share with you. In this class, the talented Kathy Rogers showed us how to create texture with corrugated card, hessian, paint and stencils. It doesn't have a title as such, but this picture shows my babies on the beach with their cousin around thirty years ago - I don't believe it!!! We also altered flowers and plaster embellishments with paint and gave them a pearly finish, then added some sticky words. When I got home, I couldn't resist adding a few more bits and bobs, like the wooden anchor and some cork pieces. My photo was very small, so I had to add some extra hessian and some book paper to fill out the space, but I grunged it up to make it look deliberate! Hi Everyone, I've finished another one of my UFOs from Scrapstars - well, nearly finished!! I still have a bit of journaling to do and maybe a subtitle ... but it's as finished as it's going to get for right now. For this class we got messy with Lisa Abbot-Saunders from the Lollipop Box Club. We had fun using paint to create a watercolour effect for the background, but my favourite part was making a hand drawn and cut title ... It was a real revelation for me. so easy to do and totally absorbing - and it even made my ropey handwriting look arty-farty. Also, as Lisa pointed out, it's completely free! :o)

Hi Everyone, Last Friday, my good friend Trina and I went off to Leeds for  Scrapstars  woohoo!! We'd been looking forward to it for months and we weren't disappointed :o) For a whole weekend, the most difficult decision we had to make was which photo to scrap and whether to have another piece of cake! As always, I came back with lots of goodies and several UFOs as I am not the fastest scrapper! Here's one page I managed to finish during a class with the lovely Tracee Provis

Hello everyone, me again! Just had a quick look at my previous post about my April tag for Tim Holtz Tags of 2016 and realised I hadn't done a post about the March tag oooopss!! So here's Tim's gorgeous tag for March ... This tag combined two techniques from previous years - textured surfaces, and dimensional die cuts. I had to wing it a bit as always as I didn't have all Tim's supplies, and my version didn't quite have the same effect, but I was really happy with the end result ...

This month, Tim showed us how to combine the faux mosaic technique with paint resist to make this beautiful bird on a woodgrain background.
