Ready for Anything!

Hi everyone,

It's only a couple of weeks now until Refresh Your Craft & Soul over at Jennifer Grace Creates. This free blog event kicks off at 4pm on Friday 6th June and promises to be a weekend filled with crafty inspiration, challenges, prizes and giveaways. I don't want to miss any of it and I plan to have a go at ALL the challenges, so I decided to go through my stash now - this way I won't have to waste time dithering later (it's amazing how long you can spend rummaging through your drawers isn't it?!)

As I have made a promise to myself to Conquer Scrap Mountain this summer, I started with my newly-organised scraps first. Jennifer suggested picking out refreshing blues, uplifting oranges and crisp whites ...

I've always loved blue and orange together - I will add some plain white cardstock as I need it. Next step was to add an assortment of die cuts, rainy elements, seaside embellies and other oddments ...

... some transparent/translucent elements to keep it light and airy - acetate butterflies, Ranger Fragments, vellum charms and an overlay I've been wanting to use for ages ...

... throw in a handful of buttons, some funky trimmings and a few rolls of washi tape just because I like them ...

... a couple of embroidery threads, a sprinkle of sparkly stuff and a pot of tiny brads ...

... a whole bunch of flowers of course (I love the giant denim one, the white ones are perfect for colouring and the sunflowers are there just because they make me happy) ...

... then obviously I will need plenty of words - Prima Canvas alphas and Tim Holtz Alpha Parts because I can colour those as I like, transparent Amy Tangerine letters, Typeset Stickers and Insta Words Clear Stickers from the Simple Stories DIY collection ...

... a splash of watery media, such as this Dylusions ink spray in Squeezed Orange, the Cosmic Shimmer Vintage Mist in blue and the gelato kit I got for my birthday and haven't even tried yet - I can use these to add interest to backgrounds, alter embellishments and customise alphas ...

What a pile of inspiration! I'm sure I will add more as I go along, but this will give me a really good start, and I love the idea of clearing out some old stuff whilst trying some new stuff ...

Last but not least, I added Jennifer's free printables (get them here) ...

So there we are - I'm ready for anything! Can't wait to see what Jennifer's come up with this time!

I'm very excited to be part of the Blog Hop on Friday 6th June at 6pm BST :o) I'll be creating a project inspired to share with you and there will be a prize, so make sure you pop back then to check it out - all the challenges and giveaways will be open internationally, so everyone has a chance to win!

OH WOW! Annie this is such a good idea. I am going away with the girls next week and I have packed and unpacked. I love how organised you are. I always feel when I scrap away from home that the one thing I want I left behind :( I am off to take a look at her blog now. Love this idea.

HI Val, I know what you mean - I am going away with the girls for a crafty weekend in August - last time I took more crafty stuff than clothes hehehe ... I mean really I only needed a toothbrush, spare knickers and PJs, the entire contents of my craft room and my iPad - no problem! :o)
