Autumn Extravaganza

Hi everyone,

The theme over at Tag Tuesday this week is "Autumn Extravaganza", so I've taken my inspiration from the beautiful tapestry of leaves which Mother Nature has thrown over our garden on this fine October day - gorgeous shades of brown, orange, yellow, red and gold ...

Here's what I used ...

  • Leftover patterned papers
  • Tag from a bottle of gin
  • Salvaged foil wrappers
  • Glass and paper beads
  • Copper wire and header pins
  • Distress Inks and applicator tools
  • XCut Embossing Punches

After covering the tag base with some of the patterned paper and colouring it with several shades of Distress Ink, I set about punching, inking, spritzing, crumpling and drying a whole pile of leaves, then used gel medium to stick them to the background ...

Check out this post for some handy tips on creating realistic-looking leaves with punches and dies.

Some glass and embossed paper beads were threaded onto header pins to create the dangly charms and then I finished off with some Inka Gold to add a subtle gleam to the leaves. Here the tag is being modelled by one of our favourite tipples ...

Are you ready for your close-up, Sir Brancott??

It would be fun to make a festive version of this tag for Christmas presents wouldn't it? Perhaps to go on a bottle of home-made Sloe Gin, or Raspberry Vinegar or Chilli Oil ... hmmmmmm .....

Thanks for visiting today, pop over to Tag Tuesday to see how everyone else has been inspired by this autumnal theme.

See you again soon :o)

ADORE what you've done here - especially the little dangly bits & I was thinking that! About Chrissy - it would make a lovely Christmas door handle hanger-ish thing, too:):)
