Shrink to Fit

Hey everyone,

Long time no blogging, but life is just now starting to calm down a little, so I managed to squeeze in some playtime this week wooHOOOO!!!

Here's what I made first - a miniature Georgie, just about 3" high in her stripey stockings. I've photographed her against a book page so you can see how teeny she is ...

This was such a quick and fun project, I can't wait to try it with some other stamps - I think they would make great embellies for cards and scrapbooks. Here's how I did it ...

I started with a sheet of shrink plastic, giving it a quick rub with fine sandpaper to remove the glossy finish ...

... then I stamped my image onto the plastic, using Jet Black Archival Ink from Ranger and of course my own Georgie Stamp Set ...

... then had fun colouring in with various pens and pencils. I discovered that the Kaiser Fusion pens smudged the Archival Ink - I quickly realised that I should have seen this coming and used water based pens instead, but hey, I didn't let it burst my bubble ...

You can see that I wasn't too careful - the whole project took about half an hour at the most. Once I was happy with the colours, I cut around the image and blasted it with my heat gun ...

Job done!! That was fun - can't wait to try another one :o)

Thanks for visiting today, it's good to be blogging again!

Ahhh, so cute. She must be so tiny! I have some shrink film somewhere - I'll have to dig it out. This makes a perfect little charm for any project!
