My Beautiful Balloon

Hi everyone,

This year I really REALLY want to keep up the Tags of 2016 over on the Tim Holtz blog - Tim is one of my artyfarty heroes and I find his work so inspiring.

Here is his tag for January ...

2016TAG

This year, he's going to revisit techniques from previous series and combine them to create something new - brilliant idea! For this one, he used foil tape, a Texture Fade embossing folder and one of his fab Blueprint stamps to give this industrial look combined with a chalkboard effect and I LOVE it!!

I didn't have all of the supplies Tim used, so had to improvise quite a bit, but I think that's half the fun of it. Here's my version ...

o
I used some thin aluminium sheet from Ten Second Studio which I glued to the base, before running the whole thing through my Cuttlebug in an embossing folder. Then black acrylic paint was applied and rubbed off again to give that grungey industrial look.

A strip of black card was torn, stamped, heat embossed and finished with white ink to give the chalkboard effect. The balloon images were stamped, heat embossed and coloured with pastel chalk inks, then fussy cut and adhered with foam dots for added dimension. The metal parts were coloured with Distress Paint in Picket Fence.

This year, I'm going to keep TH tags in this gorgeous little journal which my artyfarty friend Trina gave me for Christmas ...

I will need to glue two of the pages together to give them enough substance, but it came with LOADS of pages so tyhat's not a problem. Here's what my first page looks like ...

I'm off to link up over at the Tim Holtz blog now - there are prizes up for grabs every month as well woohooo!! Got to be in it to win it .... !!! Can't wait to see what Tim has in store for February :o)

Thanks for stopping by today, see you again soon.

Good on you! I did 'em all last year and Tim'd myself out, I think....so I'm resting on my laurels....but LOVELY that you're doing them. I can pop on over each month and get a Tim Eyeful!! How's that for putting the pressure on??!!! LOOOOOVE your take and especially the aluminium base. Looks fab!!!

I want to do the same but I have already run out of time in Jan... Maybe I will catch up. I do love his tag for Jan but I have to say I think I prefer yours and what a fabulous way to keep them all together. I have so much I want to do this year and already there doesn't seem to be enough time :D We will see. <3
