WOYWW #365 - happy messes, manky rags and gorgeous ATCs!

Good morning Deskers and Bloggers!

Well it's not exactly "flaming June" out there today - it's bucketing down and blowing a gale here, most unseasonal. Yesterday I arrived at work soaked through to my knickers and didn't manage to warm up all day YUK! But today is going to be FABulous :o) My lovely friend Trina is picking me up later and we're off to a nearby garden centre for afternoon tea (I will also get to meet her brand new granddaughter weeheeeee) and then we are going to spend the rest of the day scrapping together and generally making a happy mess - my kind of day in other words :o)

First things first though, time to show you What's On My Workdesk this Wednesday, then pop over to LLJ's to link up with other Deskers near and far and see what they've been up to this week.

So here's mine ...

As you can see, I've just continued to build on the mess I had started to create last week and the week before really! Several projects have been started but not finished - the colourful piece of paper in the middle of it all there is my latest effort for Life Book 2016, which is probably about halfway done. And yes, just to the right of that is my G&T glass, which is now empty (not that I've been drinking this morning I hasten to add, it's still there from last night - well, it wasn't a school night hehehe).

You may also be able to spot my Manky Rag at the front of the desk. This is an indispensible piece of kit which starts out as jelly muslin, and it takes months to achieve this perfect stage of Mankiness! Once it's become too manky, it gets washed, dried and recycled to add texture to collages and such. Lovely stuff!

One more thing I want to show you is a picture of all the gorgeous ATCs I've received so far for the WOYWW 7 ATC Swap ...

Aren't I a lucky girl?! So much gorgeousness squeezed into such a little space! It really is such a dreary light here today, the colours haven't come out very well, they're even more beautiful IRL. From L - R, top to bottom they were from Jan [LLJ], Lisca, Jo[Twiglet],Nikki C, and 2 from Zsuzsa [InkyDinkyDoodle] who wasn't even planning to join in! They are now all snuggled together in my ATC folder, where I will treasure them forever. Thank you so much everyone :o) xxx

Ok I'm off to LLJ's to link up - Jan's kindly looking after us all whilst the lovely Julia's recovering from surgery. Big thank you to Jan and big cyber hugs to Julia <3

Thanks for visiting today, see you again soon.

Thank you for your ATC and all the fab crafty bits, you lovely gal!! The ribbons and cats will definitely get used, I'm a firm believer in not keeping things 'for best'! The manky rag made me laugh (interestingly, auto correct changed it to 'manly rag', which is a whole different ball game, lol!!)
Have a lovely crafting afternoon with your mate,
Hugs, LLJ xxxx

Me again! Just seen your question in my comments. I vary the hearts, some are just stuffing, others have a stuffing/lavender mix as not everybody is a fan of lavender. I also sew them wrong sides together (with a gap for stuffing) so they have a raggedy edge. Looks more shabby chic, if ya know what I mean :-D xx

Dear Annie
Well done on all your desky loveliness - I really love the sheet on far left with a square cut out of it is gorgeous, but then I love turquoise.

And WOW! What great atcs, but then the desky lot are very clever, aren’t they?

That LB page is shaping up nicely, Annie! Hope to take a closer look when you're finished! I might try your muslin trick! I've got some lying around somewhere. You can never achieve that sort of mankiness on purpose! Wishing you a happy week! zsuzsa #37

You have a fabulous day planned. I will take your rain over here in Michigan, USA. It looks like rain but if anything its just a drizzle here and there. I need a good rain. Your desk looks great. Loving the LB page. Happy Wednesday! LisaDV #38

Oh I don't envy you... You are welcome to come and stay for a few days of much needed sunshine. We get too much sometimes!
I did giggle about your manky rag! So funny. I'm still not very good at doing 'messy' so I should start a manky rag. It is a measure of messyness i.e. creativeness.
Thank you so much for your lovely ATC and little katkins. I have already sent you an email earlier.
Have a good week,
Happy WOYWW,
Lisca

Hope you had a wonderful day and it turned out to be just as you expected.

Lovely ATCs you have received. It sounds like everyone had a great fun time last week. I like that life picture - what was the prompt, or subject given or however it works?
Take care. God bless.

Yep - our back garden was underwater yesterday so I can well believe you! It's ridonkulous! Hello to you too June!

I think a G&T should be essential desk fodder ;) Your creation looks interesting, will you show us when it's done?
