It's Just a Balancing Act

Good Morning Lovely Bloggy Friends,

Another beautiful though chilly Autumnal day beginning here in Norfolk UK and I have a fun day out with my good friend Trina to look forward to.

My Missing Mojo is just beginning to think about tiptoeing back into the house I think. I've beeen enjoying playing in the art journal I made out of recycled Amazon packaging a while back - it's become my collage book and even when I can't seem to do anything else, I can always do a bit of cutting, sticking and colouring in there. Here's one I finished last night ...

For this page, I used a combination of printable collage sheets from Crowabout StudioB which I bought from Mischief Circus, pieces cut from magazines, and some of my stash of alphas.

The background started with the Amazon brown paper packaging, over which I layered gesso and Gelli prints on deli paper (my "Gelli Dellies"). I used NeocolorII water soluble crayons and Prismacolor pencils to enhance the background and image, then added finishing touches with Posca paint pens.

It's a great way to practice with all the different media and the brilliant thing about the collage pieces is that once you've downloaded them, you can print them again and again. Of course, I could have a go at creating my own collage sheets, by scanning the images I find in magazines .... hmmmm .... I'm hoping my hairdresser has remembered to save some magazines for me today, so I may just try that - watch this space!

Thanks for visiting my blog today - hope your Mojo is full of beans and whatever else you're up to this week, you can squeeze in some arty-farty time :o)

Your whimsical figures are unique and quirky - I always think I will try this technique and then don't follow through. Who was it that said. The road to hell is paved with good intentions. Oh yes - the Nuns, all those years ago! Hmmmph! She's gorgeous.

Crafty Hodges on YouTube had some free printables which I grabbed. I have an article on my craft blog of some of the slim-line cards I collaged with them (left side menu), if you are interested. I might be able to link them into my blog also, for I have them stored in google drive, if you are interested in printing them out if you like what you see (right side menu.)
