WOYWW #489

Hello Fellow Deskers, Hope you're having a lovely day wherever you are in the world. I'll be at work by the time this posts itself tomorrow, and it will be Wednesday, time for What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday - nip over to Julia's Stamping Ground to see what it's all about, check out all kinds of creative spaces and see what other crafty peeps have been up to this week. Here's mine as it was on Tuesday afternoon ... Quite messy I know - I've been busy using up scraps of patterned paper and some of my maHOOSive pile of alpha stickers to label up the boxes I keep my scrapbook pages in ... The pretty butterflies came from China via Ali Express. Next job is to add coloured stickers to all the shelves below, where I store cardstock and patterned papers. Then I need to build an extension :o) I'll be back over the next few days to find out what everyone else has been up to. Thanks for visiting me today, see you again soon! Love Annie xxx

Hello Crafty Friends and Fellow Deskers, Long time no see!! I've missed so many What's On Your Workdesk Wednesdays I can't even remember how many, but Things have settled down a bit now, so I have time to play - if you would like to join us, just hop over to Julia's Stamping Ground :o) Here's my workdesk on Tuesday evening .... You may just be able to make out that I've been playing with my new glass dip pen - I LOVE it, because it's so beautiful, it works really well and it was less than seven squids from Amazon. With just one dip in the ink, I managed to write over twenty words before I had to dip again - brilliant! Here's another view of my room, looking over my left shoulder as I sit at the desk ... I guess it still looks a bit chaotic, but everything is accessible now and I'm gradually working on finding storage solutions which are pretty and practical and don't cost too much. Like those magazine files I got in the Pound Shop...

WOYWW #478

Hello! It's Wednesday AGAIN!! So it's time to pop over to Julia's Stamping Ground and link up with other Deskers all over the crafty world for What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday. Here's my proper workdesk, where I've been putting together some mini-book kits ready for the Craftathon for Breast Cancer Care in September ... But mostly I've been crafting Al Fresco over the last two or three weeks, working in my art journal out in the garden. Here's a fairly typical scene, taken after work one evening last week ... Bliss!!! :o) Thanks for visiting me today, I'll pop over to Julia's when I get in from work and find out what everyone else is up to this week over the next few days. Love Annie

WOYWW #477 - Playing Out

Hello Fellow Deskers and Blogland Mates, It will be Wednesday when this publishes itself, the day when we congregate over at Julia's Stamping Ground to show the world what's going on in our crafty spaces this week and check out what everyone else has been up to. With the amazing summer we're enjoying here in the UK, I've been doing a lot of al fresco crafting again. Here's a page in progress in my art journal, inspired by one of the Art Journal Summer School lessons ... I've just taken the picture early on Tuesday morning - it's my day off, so I had time for some cutting and sticking with my First Breakfast :o) Hopefully, the lovely Zsuzsa will spot this tomorrow and kindly link up for me (thank you Zsuzsa), if not, I'll nip over to Julia's after work - see you there! Love Annie xxx If anyone's interested to see what I made during Week One of AJSS, check out this blog post.

WOYWW #465 - the Morning After the Night Before

Hello Fellow Deskers and Bloglanders, I haven't had time to join in with What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday for a couple of weeks, but today I am on leave, so I get to play :o) If you fancy sharing your Workdesk with the world and checking out what other creative peeps are up to in their craft rooms this week, pop over to Julia's Stamping Ground join the party! Here's my messy desk as it looks this morning, after a late night craftathon ... Note the essential piece of equipment - not the ATG, but just to the left of it ... well, I'm in holiday mode! I was trying out my Tonic Craft Kit 08 for the first time, JUST before 09 arrives later this week - time has just got away from me AGAIN this month. This one makes cute little decorative trinket drawers, but there are loads more things you can do with it. I managed to make one little drawer and a LOT of mess (not sure how much the G & T helped), but now I've got my head around it, I will experiment with ...

WOYWW #460

Hello Fellow Deskers and Bloggy Friends, WellI didn't think I would be able to join in this week, but in an unexpected turn of events, I find myself sitting here waiting for a doctor's appointment - the silver lining is that I have time to show the world What's On My Workdesk Wednesday and then go over to Julia's Stamping Ground to link up and see what everyone else is up to. Here's my messy creative space as it stands this morning between projects ... I wish I had a prettier or more interesting desk to share with you - I can't even show what I have been working on, as it's something which can't be revealed until 1st April. It is a productive desk though, and it's my happy place and I love it :o) Thanks for popping in today, see you at Julia's !! Love Annie xxx

WOYWW #455

Hello Fellow Deskers and Bloggy Friends, The weeks are WHIZZING by aren't they?! It's another Wednesday, time to share What's On Your Workdesk - pop over to Julia's Stamping Ground to join in the fun :o) Here's mine, as it was on Tuesday afternoon, in the throes of making a mess in on of my art journals for a lesson on Wanderlust ... But there is one Thing of Beauty workroom ... GASP!! How gorgeous is that?! This beautiful set arrived in the post from the lovely Jan (LLJ) and I was SO surprised and delighted with it I got quite emosh ... probably something in my eye :o) Thanks Jan, they will be coming with me to carry crafty supplies for my birthday Weekend in Wells-next-the-Sea - but no messy stuff will be allowed near them!! Ok, I'll look forward to catching up with everyone over the next couple of days after work - hopefully my kind friend Zsuzsa from Inky Dinky Doodle will link me up in the morning - thanks Zsuzsa! Love Annie xxx

WOYWW #454 - brighter days are coming

Hello Fellow Deskers and Bloggy Friends, It's time for What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday - well, it will be by the time this posts itself tomorrow when I'll be a work. I'll pop over to Julia's blog Stamping Ground later to catch up, say hello and see what everyone else has on their workdesks this week. Here's mine ... You can see that I've been doing more tidying - just look at all that space!! The messy cubbyhole top centre is actually organised chaos, I know what's there and can easily get to all of it, which means I may actually get around to using some of it :o) To the right is a new light which I've bought from Amazon as part of my plan to take better photos of my projects for posting. You can adjust the brightness and the colour temperature and it can also run on a battery so you don't have the annoying dangly wire. On the actual desktop is a pile of stamped images waiting to be coloured in, and next to that my February Counterf...

WOYWW #450 - I tidied my room!!

Hello Fellow Deskers and Bloggers, It's Wednesday, so it's time to share What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday - pop over to Julia's Stamping Ground to check it out and join in if you feel the urge, everyone's welcome. So here's mine today ... I have made a lot of progress in my clearing and tidying mission since last Wednesday as you can see. On the left, my 2017 December Daily just waiting for a couple of finishing touches; on the right, my new hand-drawn diary pages waiting to be filed in my planner for 2018. So, out with the old, in with the new! :o)

WOYWW #449 - starting as I mean to go on.

Hello Fellow Deskers and Bloggy Friends, It's What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday - time to show the world what's happening in your creative space this week. Pop over to the lovely Julia's Stamping Ground - check it out, have a snout at other people's craft rooms, link up and join in if you would like to, everyone is welcome :o) So here's mine today ... I've deliberately gone for what I hope is a nostalgic atmosphere in my desk photo this week, to signify that this jumbled mess of a desk is a thing of the past - well, that's my intention anyway ... This picture was taken on Tuesday afternoon, after I'd spent several hours on my day off sorting through all Stuff in my craft room. For some reason, the actual desk got worse as everything else got better and in the end I just ran out of time ... and steam. You know how sometimes a task becomes so overwhelming that you wish you'd never started on it?!? If you were to peek to the left of th...

WOYWW #444 - The Goose is Getting Fat and all That

Hello Fellow Deskers and Bloggy Friends, It's Wednesday again and only a couple more to go before Christmas .... ?!?!?!?!?! OMG however did that happen?!?!??! :o) Anyway, I've started playing in my December Daily so that's what was on my desk on Tuesday when I had chance to take a picture - I'll be at work when WOYWW kicks off, but hopefully my lovely friend Zsuzsa will do the honours and link me up over at Julia's Stamping Ground . So here's my desk, just before I trashed it started working on the first five days of December ... It's a funny thing, but I was kinda resistant to the December Daily idea - we don't especially "do" Christmas, we don't have littl'uns around, and I wasn't sure I'd have enough going on to record something every day. However, in fact, I've been really surprised at how much I want to include and make sure I remember, and I only wish I had done this when my boys were little. Another j...

WOYWW #442 - Wonderful Wells!

Hello my Arty-Farty Friends, It's a beautiful day again here in Norfolk UK, crisp and sunshiney. I'm writing this ready for tomorrow when, whatever the weather, it will be time for What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday. Hop on over to Julia's Stamping Ground if you would like to join in. My workdesk looks a bit different this week, because I'm just back from a wonderful weekend in Wells-next-the-Sea, where I spent the whole weekend scrapping with these lovely ladies (and no, it's not some kind of Fight Club) ... L-R: Karen, Mel, Emma, Trina and Moi.  We stayed in a gorgeous house called Regal Cottage which was just a stroll away from the beautiful beach, fab shops, fish'n'chips on the quayside and the Golden Fleece where we had the most delicious Sunday lunch. When we weren't eating, drinking, walking or shopping, we were busy scrapping. Luckily, there was a huge dining table at the house, which we totally trashed within about five minutes...

WOYWW #441 - Messy Rooms and Missing Mojo

Hello Fellow Deskers and Bloggy Friends, It's been a while, but I'm back in the room:o) For those not in the know, it's What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday and you can find out all about it over at Julia's Stamping Ground . It's been AGES since I last joined in, largely because my Mojo has been missing. I have still managed to make a HUGE MESS of my desk though ... ... and it's not just the desk. Take a peek to the left .... ... and behind me... Sigh. I really need to tidy my room - again. Maybe my missing Mojo is hiding in there somewhere ... Anyway, if you would like to show the world YOUR workdesk, or just have a nosey at other creative spaces all over the world, just pop over to Julia's , everyone is welcome. See you there!  Thanks for visiting me today, see you again soon :o) Annie xxx

Dreaming in Colours

Hi everyone, Brrrrr it's definitely autumnal out there today, but we can look forward to cosy nights in with lots of time for cutting and sticking :o) Continuing my current obsession with collage - here's another one I finished over the weekend ... Again I started with a background of paint and "Gelli dellies" arranged various printed images - some of them came from magazines (I don't tend to buy women's magazines, but I found the Sunday supplements particularly bountiful) but most of them on this one were from collage sheets by Crowabout StudioB which you can buy and download from Mischief Circus . I love the whole process - cutting out all the pieces, playing with the arrangement, then enhancing the whole thing with coloured pencils and doodling. Brilliant fun which I can't get enough of at the moment! Hope you're having fun wherever you are today, thanks for popping in to see me :o) Annie xxx

WOYWW #428 - in which theTrash Dolls move one step closer

Hello Fellow Deskers and Bloggy Pals, It's Wednesday (well it will be by the time you read this) so it's time to show the world What's On Your Workdesk this week, by linking up over at Julia's Stamping Ground and then having a wander around lots of other creative spaces all over the world to see what everyone else has been up to. Here's mine this week - slightly more colourful than last week, when these were just empty packaging boxes and ribbon spools ... First I covered them in old book paper (from an algebra text book which used to belong to my husband when he was a schoolboy) ... Then I coloured them with Golden fluid acrylic paints - brilliant for this, as they're translucent and very pigmented - love those juicy colours!! Next week, I should be able to show you my finished Arty-FArty Trash Dolls! Meanwhile, I'll be popping over to Julia's to have a nosey at everyone else's workrooms - see you there :o) Annie xxx

WOYWW #427 - in which I show yer me old china!!

Hello Lovely Deskers and Bloggy Friends, It's been AGES since I joined in with What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday (too much other stuff getting in the way) and I've missed snouting around other people's craft rooms and seeing what everyone else has been up to. If you would like to find out what I'm going on about and maybe show the world what's on your workdesk this week, just pop into to Julia's Stamping Ground - everyone's welcome :o) Here's my desk this morning, in readiness for a massive cutting and sticking session ... The plan is to turn these old boxes into gorgeous Art Dolls, by covering them with paper from my husband's old school algebra textbook, throwing some paint and stuff about, adding some vintage images off Tinternet and sprinkling with various bits and bobs which are currently cluttering up my craft room. I've also been making Really Tiny Things again, like these little vintage-style plates ... I just print...

Home, Home, Home Again!

Hi everyone, We just had the most amazing and inspiring time at GoGo Getaway at Theobolds Park in beautiful Hertfordshire. The whole weekend was filled with fun, friendship and food! We got to play with pretty things all day and learn new techniques and different ways to use our stash - and there was the Hey Little Magpie shop, just in case we neeeeeeeded more lovely stuff!! :D Trina and I had been looking forward to this for so long, and it lived up to all our expectations. Here we are waiting for kick-off ... I'll show some of the class layouts in a separate post, but here's the very last page I made, showing a group photo which was taken outside in the sunshine on Sunday morning. The Go Go Girls printed off a copy for each of us and provided a kit with everything we needed to make a beautiful page to remember the weekend by ...

WOYWW #403 - still dreaming in miniature!!

Hi Everyone, I'll be working when this posts itself tomorrow, but hopefully my lovely friend Zsuzsa will spot it and link me up over at Julia's Stamping Ground  and I can catch up with everyone over the next few days. Pop over and join us if you fancy showing the world What's On YOUR Workdesk Wednesday - or just come and have a good old snout around see what everyone else has been up to this week. Here's mine this as it looked this afternoon ... The beginnings of yet another miniature kit from China - a really cute caravan with a music box and working lights woooohooooooo!!! In front of it you can see a stencil which my son made for me on his 3D printer today.

WOYWW #401

Hello Everyone, I missed WOYWW #401 as I was away last week, but I plan to do some catch-up snouting later on today when I get home from work. Hopefully the lovely Zsuzsa from Inky Dinky Doodle will link me up over at Julia's Stamping Ground - why not join in the fun and show us what's been happening on YOUR workdesk this week?! Here's mine ... ...on which you can see evidence of the fatal consequences of too much tidying - in a fit of enthusiastic organising, I managed to knock my treasured 1/12th scale husband and wife off of a high shelf, breaking both the lady's legs and decapitating her husband. Hopefully, by the time t=you read this, I will have performed miraculous surgery and they will be restored to full health :o) Thanks for popping in today, I'll catch up with everyone over the next few days - see you at Julia's! Annie xxx

WOYWW #398

Good Morning Fellow Deskers and Bloggy Mates, I shall be busy at work by the time you read this tomorrow morning, so I am scheduling it today and banking on the lovely Zsuzsa from InkyDinkyDoodle to link me up - so I'll pop over to Julia's Stamping Ground and catch up with everyone over the next couple of days when I'm home. Thanks Zsuzsa :o) So without further waffle, here's my desk today ... Still pretty organised for me - after spending most of Boxing Day cleaning and tidying in here, I have promised myself to tidy between projects from now on. It has been lovely to be able to enjoy coming in here again I must say! Here's a closer look at some of the stuff you can see on there ...
