Home, Home, Home Again!

Hi everyone,

We just had the most amazing and inspiring time at GoGo Getaway at Theobolds Park in beautiful Hertfordshire. The whole weekend was filled with fun, friendship and food! We got to play with pretty things all day and learn new techniques and different ways to use our stash - and there was the Hey Little Magpie shop, just in case we neeeeeeeded more lovely stuff!! :D

Trina and I had been looking forward to this for so long, and it lived up to all our expectations. Here we are waiting for kick-off ...

I'll show some of the class layouts in a separate post, but here's the very last page I made, showing a group photo which was taken outside in the sunshine on Sunday morning. The Go Go Girls printed off a copy for each of us and provided a kit with everything we needed to make a beautiful page to remember the weekend by ...

The kit included the GoGo cut file, the gorgeous background paper which has a really pretty teal watercolour paint effect (photo doesn't show the colour very well), and a pp with the b/w doodled flowers on one side, which we coloured with paints and gelatos before fussy-cutting and layering under the photo. I added my table flag, some cute embellies from the kit and the little silver corners from my stash. We each found a little Go Go Gift in our rooms on the first night - a pack of cute flairs, custom-made for the occasion. I thought one of these was the perfect finishing touch for my page.

When we arrived on Friday evening, our spaces in the main crop room were marked with pretty name flags planted in cute pots filled with chocolate eggs - good start!! :o)

Needless to say, the tables didn't stay like this for long! Here are some shots of the room by Saturday morning ...

We all put our pages for the various challenges up on the wall. It was wonderful to see this wall filling up over the weekend and so inspiring to see all the different takes on the challenges ...

The door you can see on the left there led to the different class rooms and pop-up shop.

The door on the right of that one led to the bar and restaurant, where we had some really tasty meals with our new friends ...

It was beautiful spring weather, and the grounds were lovely, so we did go out for a bit of fresh air every day ...

From left to right - me, Trina and our new friends Karen and Emma. We really enjoyed their company and we've all promised to meet up again for a crafty weekend :o)

All of the classes were so inspiring and each one so different, I loved them all. Here I am enjoying rust-making in Terri's class - messy but VERY satisfying ...

There was a special draw for Star Scrapper, which you could only enter if you completed all eight challenges, plus two layouts for the Scrapping After Hours class with Jo Boland AND the group photo layout. Only five of us managed this - I was first in the pot, so I threw down the gauntlet to lovely Jenny on our table, who rose to the challenge and made about six layouts in and hour and a half and got her name in the pot too. At the very end of the event, just before we all went home, the Go Go Girls drew numbers for each of the challenges, and finally for Star Scrapper and GUESS whose number came up ???!!!??? wooo HOOOOOOO !!!!

Perfect end to a perfect weekend :o)

Now I have to put the finishing touches to my class pages and then it's time to limber up for my next crafty adventure which is only a couple of weeks away ....

Thanks for visiting today, especially if you got all the way to this point!!

See you again soon

Oh dear - now it's back to reality. Glad you had a fabulous time, I love those sorts of weekends away with my tribe, when we get to play and have fun. Look forward to seeing your creations and the "wrap up" layout is fabulous.
Looks like you had a lovely time with the ladies, Annie! Just checking in to see if you had a WOYWW post. I'm not doing it this week either. Taking a back seat from blogging for a while. Enjoy the rest of your week!
