Hello Baby!

This week's Case File over at CSI has a really bold colour scheme with a technical/industrial feel and musical elements - quite unusual and perfect for a boy page I thought.

Here's the Case File ...

Debbi Tehrani, CSI mastermind, takes inspiration from the Scene to create a colour combination, design elements and journaling prompts. To crack the case, you have to use all five colours in the Scheme, at least two items from Evidence and one from Testimony.

Here's how I cracked it ...

I've used the sketch for the Scrap365 April Sketch Challenge so I will link this up there as well - why not have a go yourself and maybe win a fab prize?!

So did I follow all the clues?
  • Scheme: all the colours are there, plus some neutrals
  • Evidence: circles, metal, buttons, diagonal crosshatch
  • Testimony: IW "Think"- this picture of my baby step-grandson makes me wonder what was going through his little mind and I've dotted my journaling over several spots on the page. It's all about how it seems strange to think that when this picture was taken, I hadn't even met his Grandad yet, but now he's part of my family.
Let's have a look under the magnifying glass so you can check for clues ...

My good friend Trina was lucky enough to win a prize including lots of patterned papers from Die Cuts With a View and she was generous enough to pass a few of them on to me. I've used a couple of them on this page - the brickwork one and the letters which I cut from the 12"x12" sheet.
I've used metal staples to attach them to the page. There is also a metal framed vellum circle and a couple of vintage buttons. The blue circle patterned paper is MME Abbey Road.

I've added some diagonal crosshatching in two ways here - by hand with a drawing pen and by using some corrugated card and ink to crosshatched lines in the corners. The journaling in white pen doesn't show up too well in the photos, but you should be able to make it out. There is more written along the top edge in white, and the name and date is written on paper tape in the top RH corner of the page.

I love this little star hand cut from birch bark - these were only 10p each from a local gift shop so I bought a handful and kind of wish I'd got more as I'll probably never see them again. I love how each one is different in colour and texture, they're just beautiful - they'd make a great table decoration too.

What a cute little face that is :o)

Check out the gallery over at CSI to see all the different and inspiring takes on this challenge, and why not have go your self? You have to be in it to win it! :o)xxx
