Hello and welcome to my craft room blog :) Since passing the magical 1K subscribers on You Tube just recently, I've been busy behind the scenes planning an Arty Farty Party as a way to celebrate and say a big thank-you to all my lovely viewers and arty-farty online friends - and YOU'RE invited!  Hello and welcome to my craft room blog :) For Inktober 6th, the prompt was "Bouquet". Miss Havisham popped into my head straight away, and I thought it would be fun to draw her still clutching her withered bouquet ... For this one, I used Micron pens in 005, 03 and 12 and a white uniball signo, on the prepared india ink background - oh, and a touch of W&N gold ink for her ring.  Hello and welcome to my craft room blog. For the 5th Inktober, the prompt was "Flame". There were lots of really creative responses to this prompt, but I went with the obvious ... I used india inks, black fineliners and a white signo uniball pen. I'm so glad that I did the backgrounds and words ahead of time. Thanks for visiting my blog today, see you again soon :) Annie xo

 Hello and welcome back to my craft room blog :) Phew! It's hard work keeping up with Inktober as well as other arty farty projects and life in general! For Day Three  - "Bat" - I used india inks, a Japanese brush pen and some lush Windsor & Newton gold ink ... For Day Four - "Scallop" - I felt very uninspired, ended up doing a Zentangle-style repetitive doodle based on the pattern and texture of a shell, using micron pens in 005, 03 and 12 on the india ink background which I'd prepared ahead of time ... Not impressed, but at least I got something done and it didn't take too long :) Roll on day 5! Thanks for popping in today, see you again soon. Annie xo

 Hello and welcome back to my craft room blog,  It's Inktober 2nd and the prompt I'm following for today is "Scurry". Nothing too inventive for this one, I just went with a sweet little mouse. He's busy scurrying about looking for food  and just paused for a second to look at us - As with all the prompts, I've prepared the background and title ahead of time. For this one, I really enjoyed using a dip pen for the first time in ages - it was great for adding scratchy texture to the shaded areas to indicate the fur. Mostly black india ink, with some touches of white for highlights.  Hello and welcome to my craft room blog,  The day finally arrived - the 1st of Inktober. This year I'll be following both the official Inktober prompt list and the Doomtober one, picking and choosing which one I prefer for each day. I'm also hoping to do little pencil sketches for the Scrawltober prompts if I have time :) Here's my take on Day One - Gargoyle. I think she maybe needs a drag name - how about "Lady GaGa-Goyle"?  I've prepped all my backgrounds and titles ahead of time, to give myself a fighting chance to keep up for the whole month. After masking off the square, I just splashed on india ink in random colours with lots of water, then when it was dry I added the titles with a fineliner. I've done lots of sketches ready as well, so hopefully I will be able to keep up.  If you're doing Inktober this year, I'd love to see your take on the challenge - please let me know where you post your pics, or feel free to join the Arty Farty Annie F...

Hello and welcome back to my craft room blog. Decided to give my busy head a rest today with a really quick page in my Wreck This Journal. The prompt was " press leaves and other found things here", but I didn't really fancy doing that, so I just got inpired by "leaves" and did a negative painting of overlapping leaves -  With the negative painting technique, you start with the lightest layers in the foreground and work backwards. I used four colours of acrylic paint and finished with black and white coloured pencils. If you would like to see a speed-through of the process, click here for the video .
