SOC4 Week 5 - Mee-SHELL MaBelle!

Hi Everyone,

Well it's hard to believe that five weeks of Summer of Color 4 have flown by already ...

Kristin came up with another corker of a combination for us this week ...

... Red and Royal Blue, with a smudge, splash or pop of Light Blue - hmmm, this really got my creative cogs turning! I thought of summery seasides, nautical scenes, patriotic parties and all sorts of other stuff, but in the end I was inspired by the beautiful summer nights we are enjoying here at the moment so I went with this ...

To produce this tiny piece of paper, I totally trashed my room again - here's what I used ...

... mainly acrylic paints and Distress Inks, a light blue Gelato, a dark blue NeoArt water soluble pastel, and a bit of Cosmic Shimmer Vintage Mist for added sparkle. I used Windsor & Newton Maskiing Fluid to protect my little girl whilst I worked on the backdrop - but WAIT! Who is that Curious Creature lurking at the back? Is it a Damsel on Distress? Let's have a closer look at Mee-Shell MaBelle, the latest in my line-up of glamourous snails ...

Mee-Shell is modelling a jazzy Red striped body suit. Her glazed shell in Royal Blue was inspired by Delft china and her outfit is finished with a jaunty bow in Light Blue twine.

Here is Mee-Shell meeting up with the other girls - Doris deVine, Coral Fandango, Lottie Lush and Rosie Bucket (pronounced Boo-Kay if you don't mind) ...

One more gorgeous girly is waiting in the wings to join the party next week - watch this space!

Thanks for popping in today - pop over to Twinkle Twinkle to see how everyone else has been inspired by this amazing challenge!

See you again soon

Annie :o)xxx

Beauty is definitely in the eye of the beholder, this beholder loves your ArT very much:-) xxx
I so enjoy both your painted art AND your lovely girls. They are the delight I look for each week. I so enjoy them, and feel bad I missed Rosie last week. Of course, they are all adorable, and I can't wait to see what you come up with next week.

Great page, and I think she is my favorite snail so far! I have pulled out paint and ephemera but haven't started my house yet.

This a super art, making use of these week 5 colours in such an attractive way, the little girl is so sweet and doesn't mind having these colours at all.
And what about Mee-Shell, was there ever a more glamorous snail? although the other snails may have something to say about that. Your snails make me see our garden snails differently.

Super piece and lovely snail.
Sorry I missed your question when I was here earlier. I can't be certain where you live, but I suspect somewhere in the UK, since you used the word "whilst." If that is the case, you CAN'T buy 91% or even 70% rubbing alcohol, because I've been told you have to have a prescription for it, which seems rather bizarre to me. However, IF you lived in the States (because I know for a fact) or Australia (because it's what I've been told) you can buy it at department and drug stores, including places like WalMart, and other stores that have pharmacies in them. Thanks for asking.
